today is a very long day for me
had 4 lectures this morning. i only attended the first two because i observed a minor oral surgery procedure done on nasyitah's patient
she tried to extract his badly broken down tooth but failed. the root fractured and was left inside the socket. another appointment for surgical removal was done for him this morning.
i followed nasyitah to the specialist clinic because i assisted her yesterday.
she gave LA under the lecturer's supervision. the lecturer removed 14, nasyitah removed 12 and 13 was removed surgically. a flap was raised and we found out that the root was ankylosed. we started the procedure at 11.45am and finished at 1.40pm. 3 hours of standing.
we had clinic at 2pm. we rushed to musalla and performed our prayer. rushed back to clinic and i saw my patient was already waiting for me.
i called him to my chair and clerked him. presented the case to the supervisor and he was diagnosed to have distal caries. i had to to Class II restoration on him.
while waiting for the folder to arrive, i gave oral hygiene instruction and diet counseling to him. he was very cooperative and asked me many question. luckily, i could answer him :)
then, i proceeded to take radiograph (x-rays) of his lower teeth. it was a perfect x-ray :P. i haven't taken very good x-ray for quite some time. it showed distal caries at cervical region without involvement of pulp chamber.
i did Class II restoration using glass ionomer cement. it was my first time doing this. the patient thought i've done it before ;). have to act professional and with confident. lalalala~~
i received a compliment from the supervisor and the patient was discharged.
rushed to perform my prayer and entered the lecture hall. the lecture was half way by the time i entered. 2 lectured in the evening was very torturing. my stomach was empty. aiyakkk
